Dogwood Interiors is a design group that was established 15 years ago in the Sierra foothills by Judy Bernard. We offer a broad range of residential and commercial design consulting services that include project development, project programming, design development, and project management. It is our primary goal to provide our clients environmental and aesthetic and classic design solutions that enhance the quality, functionality and safety of their living and working environments while maintaining their personality and cultural well being.
We assist our clients with the design, selection and procurement of furnishings, fixtures and accessories. We design beautiful and functional custom kitchens, bathrooms, specifying plumbing, lighting fixtures and appliances. We design window coverings and soft furnishings, such as accent pillows and bedroom ensembles, that are fabricated in exquisite detail by our own workroom. We collaborate with the best upholsterers in the area to refresh existing furniture or to create new furnishings such as banquettes, headboards, and other upholstered items.
Our design group offers its clients more design and cost efficiency by employing design professionals that include a project manager, a computer design professional and administrative support. This allows specific design tasks to be delegated at the appropriate level for an appropriate fee, thereby reducing the design fees that are normally charged by an individual designer. And, we collaborate with architects, general contractors, engineers, reliable subcontractors, and other professional consultants to bring a complete dynamic team of professionals to your project when required.
Judy Bernard, the principal designer, has over 20 years of residential design experience in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well substantial commercial design and project management experience in the area of law firm design and construction management for law firms and corporations. She is the author of numerous articles in national publications and has lectured at conferences on space planning, construction and project management. She is also the founder of Art Quilt Tahoe, an international fiber art conference that is held at Lake Tahoe each year.
